The Grand Resort in Limassol, or how to feel welcome in Cyprus

The Greek part of the island of Cyprus has long been a favorite destination for tourists: the calm blue sea, the mountains, the greenery and the local flavor – all this attracts nature and history lovers year after year. Limassol is a resort for tourists of all income levels. A beautiful modern promenade, gently sloping sandy beaches, and a convenient road and transport system are the things that everyone will enjoy while getting to know the city. From the center and to the right of Larnaca along the coast stretches a chain of hotels – both nice budget and luxury 5 * complexes. We are going to tell you about one of them – Grand Resort.

Location and infrastructure

On one such remote beach among other comfortable hotels is the 5-star Grand Resort. Built in 1992, the hotel is constantly being renovated, so the 6-storey building and the whole area look attractive, stylish and well-maintained.

The Grand Resort stands on the first coastline, separated from the beach by a flat palm grove. A good sandy entrance to the sea, breakwaters on the sides and lots of sun loungers and tents make the beach a great place for swimming. At the same time, guests have 2 swimming pools at their disposal: an outdoor pool with a children’s area and a heated indoor pool. There is a small garden, paths for walking and a variety of outdoor furniture for outdoor recreation. Depending on your interests, the fitness room, spa or on-site bars will also help you to relax and unwind, while a kids’ club with animators will take care of your children.

The hotel staff is polite and friendly. Check-in and check-out is fast, at the reception there is always a Russian-speaking representative who can help with booking excursions or a car if necessary.

Room stock

On arrival, guests will be complimented by the hotel management with a plate of fruit and water in the room. Spacious, in pleasant turquoise tones, it has a balcony with a wonderful view of the sea and the green coastline. According to the description from the hotel website, 80 percent of the rooms are like that. Still, one piece of advice when choosing your room category: book Sea View and put a remark about the top floor – then your Cypriot evenings will be some of the most romantic ones of your life.

Complement the positive hotel experience with a sumptuous buffet. While traditional options are offered for breakfast, fresh vegetables and seafood are preferred for lunch and meat for dinner. Evening meals on the terrace with live music in the atmosphere can easily replace going to a good restaurant.

In short, the hotel is suitable for people who come to Cyprus for a relaxing holiday, decent service and their own private beach. Bear in mind that the Grand Resort is 10 kilometres away from the centre and the promenade, so it takes 15 minutes by car or bus to get there before you get into Limassol life. The bus stop is right across the street from the hotel. By the way, there is also a bicycle station where sports tourists can rent a separate vehicle for a walk around the city.

In general, enjoy Cyprus, and the Grand Resort will help you in this!
