Cozy warm Evpatoria in 2003 celebrated 2500 birthday. The resort has managed to accumulate an impressive history, so rest in this Crimean settlement offers not only the sea and the sun, but also a significant cultural component. Every street of the charming city is imbued with the spirit of past centuries. Evpatoria saw the Crimean Khanate, and Turkish domination, and the transformation into a health resort by Russian aristocrats in the XIX century. Not everyone knows that Evpatoria is one of the oldest cities in the world.
For those who want to fully appreciate the historical heritage of the city, it is worth paying attention to the popular walking route, which is called Little Jerusalem. If you follow this route, you will see six unique religious sites, as well as many other historical sites. The route includes several ancient Turkish baths and craft workshops, where even now handmade craftsmen make a variety of crafts.
The first registered settlement in the area of the present city was called Kerkinanitida. It was built by Greek colonists around 500 BC. Kerkinitida, together with the rest of the Crimea, was part of the state of the Pontic king Mithridates VI (nickname – Eupator).
From VII to X centuries it was a Khazar settlement. Later, the settlement was under the control of the Mongols and the Crimean Khanate and was called Kezlev. In 1478-1485 the city was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire.
The mild climate without sudden changes in temperature makes this area especially favorable for health.
- Evpatoria is one of the sunniest cities in the European part. There are usually 258 sunny days per year, and up to 289 in particularly sunny years. The sea there is very warm. In mid-summer, in July-August, the water temperature reaches 23-26 degrees above zero.
- Winters here are warm, usually daytime temperatures above zero. Snow falls every winter, but melts after a few days.
- Autumn is the best time to relax in Evpatoria, at the end of the so-called “velvet” season, when the number of guests decreases as well as the heat, but the sea is still warm.
In addition to a solid past, Evpatoria is rich in entertainment: water parks, boating, attractions and museums, nightclubs and gastronomic delights in local restaurants. Both family people and mischievous youth go to this city. And Evpatoria is famous for sanatoriums with an abundance of procedures that can put even a infirm old man on his feet. Maria and Ivan, Naro-Fominsk: We went in October 2019 with a little daughter. I was very pleased that children under 4 years old do not charge a fee, although we gladly used all the “children’s” benefits – a playground, animation, swimming pool. The beach is not far away, very clean. We went to the Crimea for the first time and were very satisfied, we will definitely come back here again. Amazing holidays!

Anna, Tyumen: The hotel has excellent rejuvenating programs, I have been going here for several years. Every vacation is born anew, thanks to the skill of a cosmetologist and healing minerals, which are only in Evpatoria. I recommend it to anyone who wants to throw off a few years without plastics.

The pension offers guests excursions around the peninsula from the author’s team “Legends of the Crimea with Pavel Khoroshko”.
Svetlana, Petushki: I came to the “Lake of Dreams” with my mother, especially on the mud lake. Whether the procedures helped, it is too early to judge, but the general condition of the body has improved for sure. It’s probably not only in the lake, in general, the coastal climate has a beneficial effect. The place is generally magical. Here everything is there that vacationers may need. The food is on top, the rooms are new, the furniture and walls are not worn. It’s nice not to think about some household trifles on vacation, the staff of the boarding house has already taken care of everything. I wouldn’t give them 4 stars, but all 10.

By and large, had a great time, except for a few sleepless nights due to the acclimatization of the baby. I hope we didn’t interfere with the neighbors. The food is outstanding, only I would like a slightly more varied breakfast. We went to the sea, so we practically did not explore the surroundings, except that we went to restaurants on the shore. Donna Roza is quite a hospitable and comfortable hotel, and Evpatoria does not need an introduction at all – an unusual Crimean corner.
