Up to 2 million foreign tourists come to the Ukrainian capital every year. According to most historians, Kiev was founded as an urban settlement in the X century. Now, at the end of [y] and the beginning of [y], almost 3 million people live in the Ukrainian capital, which occupies an area of 847.66 square kilometers. km (this is equal to the area of Berlin and 2 times larger than Vienna).
The doors of 27 museums and art galleries, 25 theaters and over 700 religious institutions are open in the city. - visit local entertainment venues; there are 158 leisure centers and 56 cinemas in the city;

Shelest
“Shelest” is a great place for those who want to spend the New Year holidays in a quiet atmosphere with family or friends. This is the romantic name of the hotel, located on the banks of the Dnieper, 13 km from Vyshgorod – the district center – and 32 km north of Kiev. Shelest offers accommodation in 44 comfortable wooden cottages of nine categories. On the territory of the hotel, surrounded by a pine forest, there are several objects designed for the leisure of guests:
- playground for children’s games;
- slide for tubing – inflatable rubber circles;
- a spacious recreation area with gazebos, where it is cozy in summer and warm in winter;
- spa complex, which employs highly qualified masseurs and cosmetologists;
- large outdoor swimming pool, available only in the summer months.
In winter, guests enjoy skiing along the snow-covered paths of the nearby pine forest. Breakfasts of the type “buffet” or “continental” are served to vacationers in cottages. Lunches and dinners are often arranged by hotel guests themselves. If desired, you can get acquainted with the taste of European dishes in the restaurant. The small bar offers a wide selection of original cocktails.
On New Year’s holidays, a tall Christmas tree is installed in the courtyard of the hotel, decorated with bright toys and garlands. Elena Plakhova, Zhytomyr. Hotel “Shelest” is located in an amazingly beautiful place. Nearby flows the Dnieper. The territory is well-groomed, but there are many pine trees growing around, so it seemed as if we lived in the forest. My husband and I chose a cottage a little away from the pool and gazebos. Silence, only a breeze stirred the tops of the pine trees from time to time. Our friends who vacationed at this hotel in the winter said it was just a fabulous place. Pine trees covered with fluffy snow, and bright illumination in the yard created a truly festive mood. In their opinion, the only minus of the hotel is that there is no indoor pool. I can also add that the hotel staff is always kind and friendly, even when some vacationers are too picky.
Morewell
46 km north of Vyshgorod is the picturesque village of Tolokun. Here on the shore of the Kiev Sea – the so-called reservoir on the Dnieper – is located Morewell. The hotel offers accommodation in comfortable rooms of three categories. For vacationers, a variety of leisure activities are available in the three-storey hotel building and on its territory:
- conference hall for seminars, negotiations and banquets;
- mini-zoo, where pheasants, geese, white peacock, ostriches and decorative cockerels live;
- rooms for board games;
- Jacuzzi, located in the yard and heated to + 32… + 36;

During the New Year holidays from 30.12.21 to 3.01.22 an exciting program has been prepared for the guests of “Morewell”:

Oleksandr Nosenko, Zaporozhye. We chose “Morewell” because of the New Year’s program. Unlike many hotels, information about which I viewed with my wife on the Internet, here it offered not only a New Year’s Eve, but also events from January 1 to January 3. Expectations were generally met. Our 9-year-old son was especially pleased. Games, children’s disco, fun animation, and even master classes. My son was always busy with something interesting. My wife noted the excellent work of the chefs and the service in the hotel restaurant. A big plus is that the hotel has a spa with a heated pool.
WISH Aqua & Spa Resort
31 km south-east of Kiev is a compact village with the beautiful name of Vyshenki. On the shore of the local lake Zoloce is the hotel complex WISH. The hotel has 41 rooms of three categories and villas of four types. The level of service and comfort is the same for guests who have chosen any accommodation option. Vacationers can enjoy a wide range of activities offered:
- swim in two indoor pools – children’s and sports;
- work out in the spacious fitness room;
- relax in several saunas and steam rooms;
- undergo wellness treatments in the wellness center;
- relax in gazebos in the fresh air; this is possible not only in summer, but also in winter.
Breakfast is served in the rooms and villas. Full lunches and dinners are served in the “Daguerreotype” – a two-hall restaurant. It also hosts festive events and business receptions. WISH is a great option for families who are vacationing with young children, and for small groups of friends of 3-5 people. A grill restaurant is also available. During the celebration of the New Year, many interesting events have been developed for vacationers in the hotel:
- a party in the style of “Gatsby”, a novel written by F. S. Fitzgerald; the work takes place in the 1920s;
- festive dinner in the large hall of the restaurant;
- children’s matinee with the presentation of sweets from Santa Claus;

Andrey Drobyazko, Kharkov. Me and two of my friends chose the WISH Hotel by chance. Just loved the location. Far from major cities, a separate area, near the lake. Had a great rest. It seemed that we were not in Ukraine, but somewhere in a European resort. The hotel’s fitness room is well equipped. Dozens of different simulators, and, importantly, all in good condition. The hotel staff is polite, especially the girls. The restaurant is expensive, but the dishes are very tasty. No complaints. After relaxing at the WISH Hotel, only positive emotions remained.
Equides
Tourists who dream of celebrating the New Year holidays in a luxurious place among natural landscapes will certainly appreciate the high quality of service of the Hotel Equides. The five-star parking and hotel complex is located in the village of Lesniki, 23.5 km south of Kyiv. In summer, lovers of horseback riding and golf come here.
There is a stable on site. Golf courses are also available. In winter, for guests of the country club – this is how Ecvides positions itself – other equally interesting objects are available:

Andrey Kravchenko, Chernihiv. I could go on and on about the merits of the Equides Country Club, where the four of us stayed – me and my wife, as well as my wife and I. The place is just gorgeous. There is a forest around. Be quiet. Fresh air. The work of the staff deserves all praise. The rating is 10 out of 10. Maybe we were just lucky, but my words are not an exaggeration. Every day was filled with something interesting. Women disappeared for hours in the spa. We men preferred the gym or horseback riding. I would like to come here in winter to celebrate the New Year holidays outside the city in a chic setting.
Grand Admiral
In the north-east of Irpin – a small town located 28 km from Kiev – is a five-star hotel “Grand Admiral”. The hotel positions itself as a forest spa complex. Connoisseurs say that the Grand Admiral is a great option for families with children during the New Year holidays. For guests there are 97 rooms located in three separate zones:
- in a business hotel;
- “Alpine Village” – a cottage town;
- spa hotel.
For guests of Grand Admiral there is a luxurious restaurant with an unexpected name “Mozart”. There is often live music in the evenings. In the hotel for vacationers there are several objects where you can have a variety of and interesting time:

Grigory Solomonov, Kyiv. Just want to note that both my wife and I were very pleased with the three days that we spent at the Grand Admiral Hotel. Swimming pool, saunas, massages, gym – all this made our vacation a full of activities. The nature around is wonderful. The aroma of pine trees was felt even in the room. Everywhere is clean. There are practically no complaints about the staff. Thanks to the artificial fireplace, we felt in the room, as in a chic cottage. The hotel will appeal to everyone who appreciates Ukrainian hospitality and dreams of living for a short time in the forest, but at the same time in comfortable urban conditions. With warm impressions we left the Grand Admiral, where three days flew by as one.
Kidev Park Hotel
One of the most suitable options for lovers of country pastime in winter is “Kidev”. The hotel complex Kidev, located in the village of Chubinskoye, 16 km east of the Ukrainian capital, positions itself as a park hotel. On its territory there are several cottages and the main building. A total of 22 rooms are available.
In the summer months, a variety of types of entertainment are offered for vacationers. In winter, the choice is much narrower: billiards, games in the children’s club, table tennis and skiing. For hotel guests, the doors of the restaurant, where Georgian dishes are served, are open. The gastronomic establishment includes seven halls:
- “Tiflis”;
- wine cellar;
- fireplace;
- small;
- large;
- billiard room;
- “Lyubava”.
For the New Year, the staff of the park hotel has developed an interesting program. It consists of several exciting activities:
- festive banquet;
- interactive games and contests;

Lesya Kovalchuk, Lubny. A great place to relax with loved ones. We – my husband, son and I – spent five unforgettable days at the Kidev Hotel. What we liked most was the courtesy of the staff, delicious Georgian dishes in the restaurant, cleanliness in the rooms and throughout the territory. We had some problems when checking in, but we managed to quickly contact the administrator, and he solved everything in a few minutes. That doesn’t happen often.
Premier Palace
Since 1912, one of the central quarters of Kiev has been decorating the historic building of the Premier Palace, a five-star hotel. The last reconstruction of the hotel was carried out in 2001 on eight floors of the luxurious building there are 278 rooms of 8 categories. The interior of the rooms is made in a classic style and resembles the famous five-star hotels in London and Paris.
Guests have access to the wellness club, which features an indoor swimming pool, sauna, solarium, gym and Russian bath. Seven multifunctional conference rooms are available for business people. Gourmet meals are served at two restaurants: Ikagai (Japanese) and Terracotta (Italian). A wide range of drinks is available at the 4 bars.
In summer, the panoramic restaurant “Atmosphere” is open on the roof of the hotel. The New Year’s program, which will be available to guests of “Terracotta” from the evening of December 31 to the morning of January 1, includes several rooms:
- concert with the participation of Osanna Sax & Nati Reznik – a talented jazz duo;
- performance of parodists – finalists of the national competition;
- festive dinner with dishes from V. Oncheva – brand chef of the restaurant;
- ball in the style of “In jazz only girls” – a famous movie.
Albert Borisenko, Melitopol. Premier Palace lives up to its name – “Premier Palace”. The main advantage of the hotel is the location in the historical center of Kiev. I stayed at the hotel during business negotiations. The organizers rented one of the conference rooms of the hotel. In such a luxurious historic building, there can be no poor-quality service. And that’s in line with reality. Service at a decent level, without exaggeration. I was surprised that the hotel has an indoor swimming pool. I was in early September when the rooftop restaurant was operating. The view is just unreal. The only disadvantage of the hotel is high prices. But for a five-star hotel, this is quite natural.
Hilton Kyiv
Among the hotels that are most often chosen by modern businessmen, Hilton is considered the most popular. The five-star hotel, located 263 meters from Vladimir Cathedral and 1.12 km from Khreshchatyk – the main street of the city – is equipped with 262 rooms. Hilton Kyiv includes several facilities for leisure and business life:
- 5 conference halls;
- a spa;
- fitness room;
- indoor swimming pool.
Lunches and dinners are served in the spacious hall of The Park Kitchen – a restaurant, the menu of which includes Ukrainian and European dishes. The New Year’s program will not surprise guests with a variety of activities. The main event is a festive dinner and a dance evening with electronic music. However, this is enough to create a New Year’s mood.
Pavel Lansky, St. Petersburg. “Hilton” in Kiev, as well as hotels of this network in other cities, will suit primarily business people. Our team of St. Petersburg entrepreneurs used the services of one of the conference halls. There were no complaints about the equipment. The same can be said about the service in the hotel and in the restaurant. Requests were fulfilled almost instantly. The double room is very spacious. In the evenings from the windows you can admire the Kiev architecture.
Each of these hotels has its own advantages. For those who want to feel the New Year’s atmosphere, country hotels will be the most suitable option. Of this category of hotels, the most comfortable conditions and a diverse New Year’s program awaits vacationers in WISH. Therefore, for many tourists, this option may be the most preferable.
