History
Hotel “Ladoga Manor” fully reflects the history of its origin. For the first time the main building of the manor house here was erected in 1892 by Oscar Nissen. The founder lived a golden time in the developing floureing Karelia. For their numerous achievements in various fields, the Nissen couple received prestigious prizes and awards, were especially noted by the government for their contribution to the development of agriculture, science, as well as for multifaceted social activities.
The building of the estate was wooden and consisted of two floors. A little later, another stone building was erected nearby. It housed a livestock complex. A large carriage shed was built 2 years later. To store grain crops in the Estate was built a wooden barn, which was later replaced by a brick elevator.
The restoration of the estate was started in 2011. Architects and craftsmen worked here, who managed to restore the historical appearance. On the territory there is a museum where everyone can get acquainted in detail with the history of this place thanks to bright illustrations and preserved objects.
