Ski hotel “Edelweiss” is located at the foot of the eastern slopes of the South Ural ridge Krykty-Tau (Bashkortostan). The picturesque Mount Shaitan (height 819.7 m) adorns the landscape and is the main ski site of the area. Magnitogorsk International Airport is 60 kilometers away, Novoabzakovo railway station is within walking distance. Temperate climate, stable snow cover, the predominance of sunny days in the year attracts lovers of alpine skiing, hiking. “Edelweiss” is one of the three best hotel complexes of the resort.
Location and history
The hotel was built at the beginning of the Mountain Passage along the road. A landmark for visitors is a stylized mill installed near the main entrance. Nearby there is an entertainment center with a water park, grocery stores, an alcohol market “Red & White”, a café. To the center of the resort – 2 km, the same to the zoo. The nearest ski lift is a kilometre away.
In order to get to the hotel complex, you can order a transfer from the administrator, use taxi services, get there by public transport. From the airport in the direction of Novoabzakovo there are minibuses. You can also get to the railway station, then take a suburban train to Novoabzakovo station, then cross the bridge and walk to the main entrance to the hotel.
Construction began in 2004. First, the main building with two-level rooms was put into operation. Then they built a couple of buildings with standard rooms and a studio. Then there were detached cottages. Since 2007, the hotel has been accepting guests, placing on all types of declared living conditions. In 2011, reconstruction was carried out. During the renovations, the comfort level was improved, but not in all rooms. Some still do not have a separate bathroom.
The hotel accepts guests with pets. The service is paid. For accommodation with an animal will have to pay 200 rubles / day (the price is relevant for November [y]) Check-in of guests begins at 13.00, departure is carried out before 12.00. The owners have developed a customer loyalty program. In particular, children under 6 years old stay free of charge (without a separate bed). Children from 6 to 15 years old have discounts on accommodation.

To accommodate guests, rooms are provided in two three-storey buildings, 2 two-storey guest houses, a 2-storey cottage. The number of rooms is designed to receive 58 guests at a time. A total of 24 rooms of different comfort levels:
- Economy – 1 room of 12 sq. m is located on the 3rd floor. The room has a sofa bed for 2 beds, a kitchen area with a microwave, kettle and refrigerator. Bathroom with shower is located on the floor.
- Standard – 8 rooms. Designed for 2 guests. Area 12 sq. m. On the ground floor without balconies, on the 2nd floor with a balcony. Bathroom with bathtub. From household appliances: refrigerator, TV. A hot water cooler and microwave are installed on the floor.
- Standard + – 8 rooms of 20 sq. m, prepared to accommodate 3 guests. This is a convenient option for parents with one child. There are 2 single beds or one double bed, sofa bed. There is a refrigerator, TV, table for tea drinking. Bathroom with bathtub.
- Apartment – 2 rooms of 40 sq. m. Designed for 4 guests. Both apartments are located in a detached house just behind the café. They are made according to the type of apartments: with a separate entrance, an equipped kitchen (refrigerator, kettle, microwave, a set of dishes and tableware), 2 rooms. Bathroom with shower.
- Studio – 1 room with an area of 67 sq. m. It is located on the 3rd floor, consists of 2 rooms, designed for 4 guests. The living area is combined with the kitchen. From household appliances there is a microwave, refrigerator, TV. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, dressing table. There’s a hair dryer.
- Suite – 4 duplex rooms of 75 sq. m. Entrance is separate. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a kitchen, a living room. On the second there is a bedroom.
There is another apartment located in a house on the territory of the hotel “Mont Blanc”. Designed for 4 people (40 sq. m, 2 rooms). There is a bedroom, a living room with an equipped kitchen. Bathroom with shower. The apartment is designed for a long rental period. Booking is available from 2 days or more.
Also at guests’ disposal are 2 two-storey houses and a cottage:
- The 1st house (140 sq. m.) consists of 5 rooms. It can accommodate a company of up to 16 people. On the ground floor there is a large hall, kitchen with dining area, living room, bedroom. On the 2nd floor there is a guest room, two bedrooms. Bathrooms are on each floor. In the yard there is a mangal area. There is an internal bath (gas heating). Parking is designed for 6 cars. Upon arrival, a deposit is taken, which is returned after checking before departure;
- The 2nd house (160 sq. m.) is designed for 25 guests. It has 8 rooms. There is a common hallway, kitchen, living room, bedrooms. On each of the 2 floors there is a bathroom with a shower. In the yard there is a wood-burned bath, barbecue facilities, gazebo, parking for 6 cars;
- two-storey cottage (180 sq. m) can accommodate up to 24 guests. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a living room combined with a kitchen, a bedroom, 2 bathrooms with showers. On the 2nd floor there is a hall, 6 bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower. In the yard there is a barbecue, a wood-drying bath, a gazebo, parking for 6 cars.
There is another two-storey house for 9 people. Area 70 sq. m. Total 3 rooms. On the ground floor the hall, kitchen, living room are united. There is a bathroom with a bath. On the second floor there are 2 bedrooms. In the yard built a new bath with underfloor heating. Steam room on firewood, there is a shower and a toilet.
Near the birch grove built a new one-storey house for 6 people. Its area is 40 sq. m. It has 2 rooms: living room and bedroom, bathroom with bath. There is a bathhouse with underfloor heating, shower, wood-fired steam room.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. There is a laundry room. At the reception you can order a taxi, flowers, transfer, excursions.

Meals and restaurants
Meals are not included. On the territory there is a café “Koteyka”, which cooks delicious food at home. Prices are low, so guests of the hotel complex prefer breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The café has adopted a self-service system of the type of dining room. A distribution line with a cash register is installed. Nearby there is a grocery store where you can buy ready-made food and heat it in the microwave. Nearby resort restaurants:
- Aldego (300 m) is located in the spa hotel of the same name, which is called “Bashkir Switzerland”. The restaurant uses for cooking products from local household farms, as well as vegetables and greens from its own greenhouse. In summer, the veranda opens, in winter you can admire the view from the windows of the mountains;
- Tau-tash (500 m) is a restaurant stylized as a medieval castle. Dishes of European cuisine, grill, fragrant desserts are served. There is a bar with a good wine list and dance floor;
- Mulled wine (600 m) – restaurant with karaoke, European cuisine, pizza, coffee, bar, evening shows.
In Abzakovo there is also a café representing the national Bashkir cuisine.
Leisure and entertainment
The main entertainment of the hotel guests is skiing. The season lasts from late October to early May. The high season falls on February-March. In January, there are severe frosts, although not often. The slopes of Abzakovo are served by 6 lifts. They lift winter sports fans to 13 marked tracks. The height difference is up to 320 meters. All tracks have artificial lighting. Snow cannons are installed everywhere. This is due to the fact that Abzakovo is a gathering place for skiers and biathletes. Competitions of different levels are held here.
The hotel offers a rental service of sports equipment, including tubing. In the ski complex itself, you can hire a ski or snowboard instructor. There is a shop of sports equipment, workshops for repair of equipment, luggage storage of personal belongings. The routes are controlled by the rescue service, there is a medical center.
In addition to skiing, you can ride on an ice rink, go down from the mountain on a “vatrushka”, run on cross-country skis.
