In 1964, Eino and Osmo Kalpala founded the ski resort of Kalpalinna, and the slopes of Kiyanlinna were annexed to the resort.

Today Kalpalinna is one of the largest ski resorts in Finland with beautiful nature and developed tourist infrastructure. There are 13 slopes of varying difficulty and 18 ski lifts.
