Hersonissos is located between the capital Heraklion and the major center of Agios Nikolaos. It is convenient to ride the bus in both directions. This resort village actually consists of two major streets, on which bars, taverns, shops and nightclubs are concentrated. Attractions: a Roman fountain, ancient ruins, ancient churches and a couple of museums. Tourists are especially fond of water parks and the local oceanarium. The beaches here are not very good – narrow and with boulders. But there are good sandy places that are easy to find. Families with children are not recommended to stay in city hotels because of the vibrant nightlife. Young people frolic in numerous bars and clubs, music plays on the streets and motorcycles roar, the center sparkles with lights of lights. At the end of the city there is a hypermarket “Metro”, where the prices for goods are 2 times lower than 2 times lower than 2 times lower than 2 times the stores of the center, focused on rich Europeans. Infinity Blue Boutique Hotel & Spa – Adults Only
A 3 star adults-only hotel that pretends to be all 4. Of the pros: rooms in a modern positive style, smiling and pleasant staff, good breakfast, on weekends at dinners live music or national dances. Cons prevail: a very expensive spa, paid drinks at dinner, a crowded beach with a rocky entrance to the sea, a small communal pool. Also not very convenient location – the city is far away. The food is varied, but without frills. Tourists praise only breakfasts, dinners for many cause displeasure. Sea views are open only from 4 suites, the rest of the rooms have a view of the stone houses. Despite all of the above, here you can have a good rest, if you do not expect too much and get a good discount on the ticket.
Harma Boutique Hotel
Harma is a new 4-star hotel in a modern style and with beautiful lighting. The center has a medium-sized swimming pool and sun beds on the lawn, and also has its own fitness center. The rooms are fresh, spacious enough, equipped with air conditioning, TV plasma, safe, coffee maker and slippers. Bathrobes and beach towels are missing. The location in the city center is convenient for relaxation: there are many free city beaches, taverns and leisure facilities around. Food of the Swedish line: good breakfasts, but without frills. It is better not to take dinner, because in taverns the food is always tastier, the menu is more extensive, the interiors are more colorful. Of the cons: paid sunbeds and umbrella on the beach, lack of animation.

But breakfast – you can live. Eggs, cereals, bacon, cakes, fruits, salads, coffee beans, etc. City beaches with a rocky bottom, the best sand – “Star Beach”, but there to go for 30 minutes. Villaggio Hotel Hersonissos
Villagio is a new small hotel complex on the outskirts of Hersonissos near the heraklion – Agios Nikolaos highway. Built in ultra modern urban design and suitable for the rest of couples in love or youth companies. There is no spa, fitness club, or even a park. Pros: fresh rooms,intimate atmosphere. Of the equipment there is only a small swimming pool, Wi-Fi and parking. A modest breakfast is included in the price. You can have lunch in one of the local taverns, walking into the city.
Kahlua Hotel & Suites
“Kalua” is a small hotel in the city center right by the sea. Pros: nice little rooms, quality Wi-Fi, its own beach and daily cleaning. From the building to the beach made an underground passage, so you do not need to go outside. Meals: good breakfasts without frills and “wow-effect”. Dinners are better not to take, because there are many negative reviews. There is no common pool and no animation here. Tourists praise the hookah and scold the high price tag in the bar. The beach is not the best – in the water first plates, and then stones with sea yog. When choosing a hotel in terms of price / quality ratio, it is worth considering the above shortcomings.
Mari Kristin Beach Hotel
“Marie Christine” is a small city hotel on a quiet pedestrian street near the center and 50 meters from the sea. The main disadvantages: a small communal pool, a complete lack of animation, park area and spa. Pros: comfortable rooms with an interior in a modern style, delicious food, a chamber atmosphere without pushing. The hotel “Marie Christine” is inhabited only by adults. Continental breakfast is included in the price of the voucher, and it is better not to include dinner, so that there is a choice of where to dine – in taverns or in the hotel. Drinks at dinner for a fee, nearby there are shops where you can buy food and accessories cheaper than in the hotel.

Glaros Beach Hotel
This is a popular 4-star hotel on the 1st coastline. To get to the beach you do not need to go outside – just walk a couple of tens of meters through the hotel. A large swimming pool with fresh water without the smell of chlorine and with many sunbeds – a plus. “Glaros” was chosen by pensioners 60+ from Holland and Belgium. There is a spa with an average price tag, massage 30-70 euros. The restaurant room can hardly accommodate all the tenants – this is a minus. There is no animation and fitness center, there are also no locations for children. Paid Wi-Fi and drinks at dinner are also a minus. Rooms are cramped but cozy.

Sun beds by the pool occupy from early morning, it is better to sunbathe on the roof of the bar. The food is good: standard European breakfasts without cereals, good coffee from the machine – 5-6 varieties. I liked the dinners, especially the dish of the day, which is new every day and cooked with you. Silva Beach Hotel
Nice hotel with two large swimming pools and a fenced area, which is not driven by motorcycles and scooters. The beach has a rocky bottom, but to the sandy “Star Beach” to go only 500 meters. There are slides and entertainment. The food in the hotel is not bad, the buffet is of the average level, in the form of a bonus there is a small corner of pan-Asian cuisine. The chef is apparently passionate about his work, there is no heartburn after eating. At dinner, the maestro plays the piano, there is a good animation. Pleasant territory in the style of a Cretan village with two-storey bungalows. Minor comments on reviews are insignificant in essence. Recommended for a relaxing all-inclusive holiday.
Cosmopolis Crete Suites
This is not a hotel in our understanding, but apartments of three types, which are rented daily by Paul and Eva – the owners. Of the advantages of such a holiday: complete privacy, own kitchen, spacious housing. Cons: no included breakfast and dinner, fitness center, animation, children’s locations. In fact, this is a spacious apartment with decoration in the fashionable style of urban housing of Europeans. Around the noisy pedestrian street, there are numerous restaurants and bars, countless beaches and other places of recreation are available. The views from the apartment window are beautiful. This option is recommended to shoot in a fold for young couples who love clubs and bars, relaxing on the beach and romantic privacy.
Indigo Inn
Indigo is an eco-style hotel with spacious rooms, a meager breakfast and a useless beach. Of the pros: comfortable rooms, good dinners, pleasant interior design. The small communal pool with slippery tiles around is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. That is, you will not be able to plunge before breakfast or before bedtime. Also for air conditioning in the room you need to pay as much as 5 euros per day, plus 3 euros – local tax. It’s outright robbery. Drinks at dinner are paid, only tea, coffee and water are included in the price. A towel is issued only for use in the room,for the beach or pool you need to have your own separate. There are no locations for children. In general, a good hotel, but definitely not the best in the category of 4 stars.
Star Beach Village & Water Park
The best hotel for a family holiday in Hersonissos, thanks to a decent water park, excellent food, the presence of children’s locations and animation. The huge territory of the complex is divided into two parts – one only for those living in a hotel with a children’s club, playground and swimming pool, the other is freely available. Golf carts run on site. Around there are a variety of pools, taverns and bars for every taste, where there is, among other things, a children’s menu. No need to go anywhere and drive, everything you need is on the territory. Sand beach – the only one in Hersonissos has positive reviews of tourists. There are no very dangerous and steep slides in the water park, but there are no queues. The number of rooms corresponds to 4 stars, without luxury, but with the necessary comfort and coziness. The safe is used by prepayment. Of the cons: music is constantly playing around, a lot of young people with a hookah, everyone smokes. A 10-minute walk from the Lichnostatis Museum and the city centre.

The food in the hotel is quite good – a large selection of dishes, desserts and fruits, everything is fresh and tasty, beautiful dishes and serving. There is a paid bar with drinks and a good Italian restaurant. Access to the fitness centre is included in the price. Convenient location: close to the water park “Star Beach”, to the city center and nightclubs on foot to walk 10 minutes. Of the cons: there is no park area, paid sunbeds with umbrellas on the beach.
