We are in our seventies and have always gone there for the mountain air and the stunning scenery. Have been there several times before, mainly in the summer, but first time at the Radika Resort. Mavrovo is an awesome location. Beautiful walks around the lake. You need your own transport to visit other localities. In general we find the cooking and food in the area poor. Little eateries around the lake not really to be recommended. That’s why poor food at Radika Resort did not surprise. This is why we usually rent a holiday house and do our own cooking. Excellent supplies of meat and veggies can be bought in Gostivar, 16 kilometers from Leuonovo, village where Radika is located.

Mavrovo is a mature resort, and many hotels and facilities are currently being upgraded and updated. The hotels are small and cosy. Many private villas are available for short-term stay too.
The ski pistes are diverse enough, some European Cup races were held there in the past. There are nice facilities around the pistes, several restaurants and huts at the top, night skiing, snow-guns, etc. It never gets overcrowded for skiing.
It is also a popular destination for year-round sports, events and seminars tourism.

What a shame this place is dead this August.
What a shame this place is dead this August. Half the water has disappeared from the lake, leaving an ugly shoreline of plastics and other rubbish. The town is dead, with none of the well marketed activities actually in evidence. It seems those responsible for collecting rubbish are on strike out have been fired because the industrial bins are all over flowing leaving the town with a putrid smell of long rotten waste. Hopefully things will get better before the ski season

Mavrovo is probably the best ski resort in North Macedonia.
Mavrovo is probably the best ski resort in North Macedonia. There are 13 ski lifts (3 chairlifts and 10 surface lifts), the slopes are nice and of various level of difficulty. People who need modern and fast lifts will be disappointed because the lifts here are a little dated. For me instead, this adds a nostalgic vein to the charm of the place. Hotels are at least twice as expensive here compared to the Macedonian standard due to the great demand and the importance of the resort. There are several ski rental shops. The view from the lifts, from the slopes and from the plateau is amazing, especially thanks to the wonderful lake below. A considerable effort is made by the resort staff to keep the slopes, the roads and the public areas clean, but it's almost a hopeless job since the tourists, here as well as virtually everywhere in the southern Balkans, throw garbage everywhere including on the slopes, in the rivers and in the lake.
Nice appartment with a twin bed, a sofa bed and a child bed. Nicely decorated with all commodities, even a washing machine. Helpfull and friendly owners. The appartment complex incorporates a parking lot. Situated an the southernmost tip of Mavrovo Lake 100m higher, near the base of the Ski Resort. Tap water is potable. The owner can provide the appartment wifi password which offers stable internet access - the data network signal is not that good inside the building.
It's a huge apartment complex, probably a mix of privately owned and rented apartments. There is no restaurant or any other hotel like amenities. Also, despite the name, there is no spa. It is located in the hillside in Mavrovo, approximately 15 minutes walk from the centre of the village.
The apartment was spacious, clean, well equipped. I did not see a washing machine neither a dishwasher though. Great views.
It has a great location, it is a first house near the main road in Mavrovo and has a restaurant across the street, It is not isolated house in the woods, which is something we wanted. The apartment interior was all in wood, looking as a mountain house. The room view has a top-bottom window and a view of the lake.
The host was extra kind and helpful.
Yugoslav era, large hotel, mainly catering for winter skiing visitors. It has a restaurant and a pool on sight. Breakfast is good, with eggs, cheese, hams, pastry, yoghurt, vegetables: it is really a nice experience, especially if you can sit on the balcony (summer time), under some shade. Good location, close to the ski lift. The staff is nice.
Kira apartments are the perfect choice for your stay in Mavrovo!
Modern and spacious apartments, everything is brand new and you have absolutely everything you may neeed during your stay here. Location and cleanliness are also superb! We absolutely adored it, we felt like at home. Additionally, hosts are super helpful and friendly. 10/10!
The cabin was what you would expect for the price and the location-- an adequate place to hang out and rest after a day skiing. Not very plush, but perfectly satisfactory. If you went there looking for a hotel-like stay, you'd be disappointed. If you accept it for what it is, you should be happy for the price you paid.
The hotel is very comfortable, very clean, the staff are polite and helpful. The internet connection is very good and you can enjoy Netflix too. The Spa very clean and you can enjoy the privacy with your own family by booking at the reception.
Incredible location, host, facilities, and rooms! Great for our group of 13, host was incredibly flexible and helpful. Gave a great deal for ski rentals, and has a family owned food shop in front of the property. Can’t wait to return!
Good location in Mavrovo. Host was very nice (but no English so very difficult to communicate effectively). Room was basic, but clean and fine for a night or two.
The host was very welcoming and polite. The apartment was spacious and clean, with all the necessery equipment. Would come back again next time when in Mavrovo!
Perfect location, beautiful area around the hotel, to chill, very good facilities (outdoor and indoor swimming pool, playground for children), tasty breakfast,
