Guest reviewThe location was quiet, the room was clean and comfortable, and the lodge owners were very welcoming. There was AC, hot water, and a ceiling fan. Ideal if you have a scooter, as walking into the main part of Weligama is around 30 minutes. The room was great value for money.

In my opinion, on south of Sri Lanka, Weligama is the best place. Beach is the nicest and there are few great restaurants ( like Nomad) and beach bar Kai which is the best place with a pool, beach acces and great food. Lots of great beach options , cafes/restaurants/ and shops. Kurumba Bay always fun to hang out at with options for food and dessert. You can always hop into a tuk to visit neighbouring beaches too. Salt in Mirissa was a great place to spend the day whether it be in the sun or shade, they had both options. They served good food and cocktails. Weligama is cool for surfing.
Weligama is cool for surfing. It has lot of places for tourists and foreigners like Hangtime Hostel, or like NoMad cafe or even Ice Weligama to chill and have some ice bath yoga classes or sauna. In general it has a lot of things to do with the main being surfing. It's good for beginners in surfing, though when the waves are ideal for surfing the line up is crowded and not enjoyable. When the waves are more strong then it's less people and you'll enjoy it more! You'll have good time visiting Weligama. Warm weather, waves and chill vibe.
