Great place for winter activities and relaxing in a scenic fell & forest setting. Accommodation available from a hilltop hotel to housing options to varied taste & budget, even with great views and next to slopes or skiing/trekking tracks. Some nice options for eating out as well but not a place for party sharks. Local grocery stores small with limited options, more selection 30-45 min drive away. Car is a necessity when not staying in a hotel. If skiing is not enough try e-fatbike or a husky safari.

The paths in the national park was surprisingly quiet.
The paths in the national park was surprisingly quiet. Paths all around were well taken care of.
The nature path at Pikku-Syöte had beautiful views.
The restaurant Hilltop on top of Iso-Syöte had good food, nice views and friendly staff. They also had several vegetarian options, unlike other restaurants in the area.
It was nice and easy to rent skis and sliding snow shoes. Paths were well stamped so it was also ok to walk without snow shoes.

We were in Syöte slightly off-season, mid August, it was very nice, peaceful and calm. Enjoyed the trails with our bikes and hiking as well. There is a small shop for necessities but I recommend shopping before coming to Syöte if you are going to cook and such. So many activities to do while enjoying the beautiful nature.
Spacious 1-floor living area and functional overall layout for a comfortable stay
Breathtaking scenery towards Iso-Syöte
Private outdoor jacuzzi with the view plus a spacious sauna/bathroom with the view
Kitchen well equipped for cooking and tableware
Serene and private location
EV charging possibility
Access to Pikku-Syöte slopes from front door, super cross country skiing & trecking/biking routes nearby
The host is very friendly and helpful. The house is even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. From the terrace you can see both the sunset and the sunrise. The accommodation is very close to the Iso-Syöte ski base. We will definitely visit this accommodation again.
The hotel is beautiful and the view even better! We stayed in a cottage which was great - it was spacious and had everything you need, including a lovely little sauna. The restaurant offers good food, especially the breakfast options very lovely.
Amazing North Finland style suite with a useful mini kitchen. Great cross country skiing possibilities close by. Own peace at some distance from the main hotel building. A good sauna with cooling down possibility at the main building.
Very close to both iso & pikku syöte if you have a car. Good value of money for a ski holiday. The kitchen - though small, but has everything you need to cook.
