The breakfast was good and on time. I really enjoyed the Dominica Spaghetti . The pool was refreshing and I had a great room . The staff was really nice from Security officers, Cleaning crew, Chefs, Bartenders. I had a problem with my fringe and the owner replace it .I was able to cook my food as well. This place was a gem! Carmelo is one of the best owners that I've had the pleasure of dealing with! He gave me all The insider tips for getting around the Dominican Republic cheaply! He told me about the bus that leaves from sosua that goes to Las Terrenas everyday! He escorted me to the stop and waited there with me! He was great! His hotel was great! The wifi I was great! The hot water was weird but it worked well! Great breakfast! This is the only place that I would consider staying in Sosua!

i liked the location the best because i was able to mix with the local people there. i learned alot about the Dominican culture and meet some good people. the night life was great the clubs and the casino were full of people on the week end. and i have to say the ladies of Sosua are gorgeous and friendly. the local message shop only charge $20 America dollars for one hour you can get that in the us. and they do an assume job. the beach water was a beautiful blue color and they have a variety of good restaurants.

Sosua offers everything for a nice short holiday. a very beautiful beach is Playa Alicia. You have to pay for the sunbeds/ umbrellas but it is worth it. German butchers have great sausages and meat and also the "La Cantina" restaurant in La Mulata is great if you search for German food. The Playero supermarket offers a great variety of products.

We have been here in Sosua for one week.
We have been here in Sosua for one week. We stayed only two nights at Sosua Ocean Village after we canceled our Airbnb because it was horribly dirty. I do not feel this is a town for children. The ocean village is, but if you stay in Sosua and intend on going in to walk the city, etc, no. It's so busy, with random dogs and motorbikes and cars everywhere. The number of times we had to walk on the busy road over the sidewalk was countless.
Sosua Beaches waves are big, which is not a good place to swim. Playa Alicia was better, but there was lots of garbage washed up on the beach - tons of it. I don't know why it isn't cleaned up. You also have to pay to use the palapas and chairs. We had our own beach towels, so we did not take advantage. Sosua Beaches vendors hassle you a bit, and the prices are high. You should not pay more than 100 pesos - more like 50 for a fresh coconut. One vendor tried to charge me 300 pesos.
The restaurants are plentiful, and lots have great food and great prices. Take note of the two taxes they add! There is 18% tax and then a 10% tax that is a service tax = 28% TAX. I have read that this 10% does not all go to the server and can be kept by management or distributed amongst all staff, so be sure to leave a couple of extra dollars if the service is great.
The Ocean Village is beautiful, but where this condo is situated is not ideal. You want to be away from the workers coming in and all their loud motorbikes that they rev repeatedly. The ivory or peach condos would be better. We would never stay in this condo again based on its location. Good Luck!

This accommodation is just what you need to enjoy Sosua and surrounding the best. Thanks to the lovely host Nikki who cares great for her guests and it feels like family. The rooms are very tidy and the furniture & fittings modern and beautiful. You really feel relaxed, the moment you are there. very beautiful Garden/ pool area and even the option to make BBQs. It is an oasis for spending holidays. If we travel back to Sosua for sure we will book Garden By the Sea again.
If you are a woman traveling by yourself and need a safe, comfortable and welcoming hotel, this is the place for you! I had a wonderful warm welcome by so kind and honest persons, including the owner Antonia and the sweet Rosa ! The bed was really comfortable ! The room clean, I felt safe and at home. There is a nice grocery store near the hotel. And ROSA, who works there, what a wonderful person! I will not forget her kindness. Thank you for all !!!
Room BAD, BAD. Smells pint, dirty. Bed not comfortable. Event the sheet has stain of paint that is noticeable at 1st view. This is 1 start hotel. not woth the price..
