Val Thorens is the highest mountain resort of the “Three Valleys”. The city welcomes guests at an altitude of 2300 m. It was named the best ski resort in 2013 and 2014 and was awarded the Word Ski Award. A distinctive feature of Val Thorens is a lot of interesting ideas for a winter holiday. Visitors stand on the track immediately at the door of the building. It is here that guests will ride along the 6-kilometer Toboggan sleigh track and enjoy zip-line skiing at an altitude of 3230 m. Children will love Fun Park with a pool of balls and an inflatable palace.
Almost every resort complex is equipped with spa areas and wellness centers, a hammam and a heated swimming pool. In the vicinity of the city, ancient buildings have been preserved, for example, the Saint-Pierre d’Extravache tower. Before booking a room, it is worth finding out what else will please tourists with hotels of the resort.
Hotel Pashmina Le Refuge
The five-star Pashmina Le Refuge hotel is located in the centre of the Val Thorens ski resort. The highlight of the hotel is the accommodation of guests in safe structures made for polar expeditions. Featuring a spacious bed, a wood-burning stove and a sauna, this room is located on the roof of the complex. The second version of the Igloo-Pod is equipped with a hot tub.

For the first time I stayed in this beautiful place. The design of the spa and common areas is tasteful. Loved our room with mountain views and luxurious restaurant.
Altapura
From the hotel Altapura you immediately get to the ski slope, to the lift Plein Sud 300 m. From the complex direct access to other slopes of the resort “Three Valleys”. On the territory there are three restaurants with French cuisine. In one of them, an exclusive fondue is prepared, invented by the chef specifically for the institution. Distance from Altapura to railway station railway station 35 km. The nearest airport is Chambéry Airport, 66 km from the property.
Everything for recreation and sports
The complex has a modern ski shop and equipment rental is available. Experienced instructors will help you choose sportswear. After walking on the slope, hotels usually offer:
- take a steam room in a wet or dry sauna;
- relax in your own spa;
- work out in the fitness area;
- swim in the pool or jacuzzi.
Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to enter the pool without adults.
Not the first year we stay at the hotel. Here you can take a ski-pass cheaper than on the VT website. The staff of the complex is very helpful, real professionals. During the descent, the husband injured his hand, the hotel staff helped to fill out a declaration and send it to the insurance company.
Alberta Hotel Spa
The hotel is located in Val Trans, 200 metres from Les Pionniers Ski Lift. A little further work the tracks of the Cascade, Kern. Experienced instructors of the Ski School Val Thorens are waiting for guests 400m from the doors of the complex. Chambéry Airport is 67 km away.

The windows of small warm rooms of the hotel overlook the mountains, there is a spacious 4-bed option. The dining area is made in calm gray-blue tones. Rooms are decorated with natural materials.
Cozy small hotel with bright rooms in Nordic style. The restaurant has a children’s menu, on site there is a private coffee shop. The car was left in the street parking lot. A ski storage room is available.
Hotel Fitz Roy
Fitz Roy rises in the heart of the Val Thorens ski resort at an altitude of 2300 m. Moutiers is 45 minutes from the hotel. The complex features a spa area and an on-site restaurant serving traditional French cuisine. The hotel offers a ski pass, sports equipment rental.
Homely furnishings in the rooms of the Fitz Roy
The cosy rooms offer panoramic views of the mountain slopes and the village. Double glass balcony doors protect against extraneous sounds and wind. The rooms maintain a comfortable temperature. Guests are offered standard accommodation, duplex suites and privileged rooms for comfortable accommodation.
We would like to note the good location of the hotel, room service and decoration. The rooms are warm, it helps to quickly warm up after skiing. In the evening, you can sit in the library or bar. We got acquainted with the local cuisine, having lunch in the hotel restaurant.
Le Val Thorens
One step from the hoteldoor, and the guest is at the beginning of the ski trail leading to the slope. In 200 m from the complex there are 3 supermarkets, sportswear departments, souvenir shops. Chambéry Airport is almost 67 km away. A shuttle service is available at an additional cost.
Yoga, skiing or relaxing in the bath
On the territory of the hotel there is a heated swimming pool, Turkish bath, yoga classes. If desired, the child can call a nanny, in the playroom puzzles are laid out. Access to the spa is paid separately, as well as the work of the ski school. Staff will offer a mountain ski pass and sports equipment for hire.
Stayed in several hotels in Val Thorens. And only here we liked the steam room. Attentive staff, cozy lobby area with fireplace. On the square where the hotels are located, fun fairs are held. Incredibly convenient place for skiing, many lifts in 200-300 m from the complex. Comfort room overlooks the village.
Fahrenheit Seven Val Thorens
This 4-star hotel has direct access to the Les Pionniers ski lift (200 m). Val Thorens School is within walking distance. Shops and a spa, sauna and steam room are available on site. If desired, you can book a suite for the newlyweds. Chambéry Airport is 67 km away, Turin International Airport is 83 km away.
Grilled meat or traditional fondue
La Rotisserie restaurant serves juicy grilled meat dishes. Le Zinc offers to get acquainted with the local cuisine. The cosy bar has a fireplace and in sunny weather guests dine on the outdoor terrace.
Stayed at the hotel in a family room for Christmas. The complex is so located that you can leave the building and ski. Wonderful buffet with different varieties of cheese, homemade bread, bacon. Skis could not bring with them, took equipment for rent here, in the hotel.
Langley Hotel Tango
The hotel stands at the foot of the slopes in the area of the resort “Three Valleys”. A ski station is 100 metres from the property, 7 km from Le Menuire Mountain Base. The complex is known for delicious cocktails, après-ski, juicy pizza and barbecue. There is also a spa area on site. Val Thorens Ski School is 200 metres away,and the Kern Ski Lift is 500 metres away and Moutiers Train Station is a 45-minute drive away. The nearest airport can be reached in 1 hour and 40 minutes by car.
Accommodation of guests
The hotel offers to book double rooms with 2 beds and 4-bed rooms. Some rooms overlook the mountains, there is an option with a balcony overlooking the valley.
Cozy small rooms with large windows and a balcony. A fun place to relax with the company. Comfortable beds. Ample parking is available a few metres away. The restaurant serves fresh, simple, homemade food made with local produce. A ski storage room is available on site.
Hotel Le Portillo
Hotel Le Portillo is 200 metres from Val Thorens, Castor and Pollux Ski School. A mini market, a French restaurant and a bar are available on site. The complex features a wellness centre and a spa area.
Sports & Leisure
Val Thorens hotels have free access to the resort’s many ski lifts. Hotel Le Portillo is no exception. What guests can do in the complex and off-site, except for skiing:
- Relax on the spacious terrace overlooking the Alps.
- Discover local cuisine at La Pause Restaurant.
- Spend the evening in the bar, admiring the snow-covered slopes.
- Relax with spa treatments.
- Get a professional massage (additional charge).
We came to rest in the hotel during the winter holidays. I was pleased with the descent to the ski lift a short walk from the complex. Near the hotel restaurants, shops. From the windows of the rooms there is a magnificent view of the mountains. I liked the small coffee shop on site.
Hotel Des 3 Valles Val Thorens
Boutique hotel 3 Vallées in the heart of the resort “Three Valleys” in terms of location and quality of services is not inferior to five-star complexes. This is a great holiday option for a married couple. In 200 m from the hotel there are tourist sites:
- Les Pionniers lift;
- Val Thorens Ski School;
- Castor and Pollux.
A market and a grocery store can be located nearby. The Grand Spa thermal spring is 17 km away.
Almost 30 comfortable rooms for relaxation
The hotel has 28 cosy rooms in a traditional Alpine style with natural finishes with access to the spa. Wooden walls, furniture complements the light floor. Family rooms and non-smoking options are available on site.
Rested with friends in January. This was our fourth trip to the resort, in 3 Vallées a cozy spa area and bright rooms. It was nice to wake up looking out the window at the tops of the mountains. I also liked the dinner included in the price and location of the hotel. The complex has a homely atmosphere.
Hotel Le Sherpa Val Thorens
A traditional chalet-style hotel in the centre of Val Thorens. It offers panoramic views of the Trois-Valais district. There is a ski school next to Le Sherpa. Lake Lac de Tete Ronde is 1 km away.
Sleeping in a comfortable room and hammam after an active day
Rooms here will provide you with solid wood furnishings. There is a lot of light in the warm rooms. The complex offers a spa, massages and a Turkish bath.
For a fee, guests can enjoy diving, bowling and themed dinners. There is a tennis court behind the property. For guests, there are routes for exciting hiking in the valley. In bad weather, you can sit in the library or in the playroom to collect puzzles with children.
The whole family liked the convenient location of the hotel, it stands very close to the track, pleased with the presence of ski lockers. Inside there is a lovely hall and bar, friendly atmosphere. The restaurant has excellent food and service. Cozy comfortable room with large beds.
