The small town of Ivanteevka is located 17 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Ring. The Ucha River divides it into two parts – the western (more historical) and the eastern (young and modern). A small cozy town has a rich history, but at the same time it has a quiet calm atmosphere. On all sides, Ivanteevka is surrounded by forest plantations, most of which are part of the dendrological park. Ivanteevsky Dendrological Park named after Alexander Yablokov
The arboretum is located just 15 km north-east of Moscow. They occupy an area of 13 hectares and is a great place to get acquainted with the unique representatives of the plant world. The park was established in 1936 for the purpose of research work on the selection, acclimatization and seed production of forest species. In 1933, the Government of the Soviet Union set the task of creating a nursery in which it would be possible to test various forks of forest plants, to breed new hybrids that would show resistance to adverse environmental factors. The resulting plants were planned to be used to strengthen the banks of the Moscow-Volga Canal. This became the basis for the creation of the Ivanteevsky forest nursery. The author of the project is Academician Alexander Sergeyevich Yablokov. The park was laid on the site of the former landfill, which was cleaned, divided into alleys and quarters.
By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, 1000 plants brought from China, Japan, Siberia, America, and Europe were planted on the territory of the dendrological park. But because of the harsh winter of 1941-1942, many plants died. Work on artificial crossing continued in the post-war years. Over time, 27 hybrids were brought out in the arboretum, each of which was assigned the status of a variety.
To date, the dendrological park consists of two parts: the selection department and the dendrological park itself, which presents an exposition of trees and shrubs. At the time of 2018, more than 100 species of forest flora grew in the park, which belong to the 24th families and 55 genera of forest species. The park consists of 17 blocks, each of which is divided into several sections. Each block has its own number. In the arboretum grow plants from Canada, the USA, Siberia, the Far East, China, Japan, Europe, the Caucasus.

Tower Key
A small turret with a well for the key is considered an unofficial symbol of the city of Ivanteevka. Her image can often be seen on various souvenirs. At one time, it was one of the supports for the gate of the dacha of the manufacturer V. Lyzhin. The construction of the tower, which was popularly called the tower “Key”, dates back to 1906. The architect of the project was the most famous master from Moscow, who practiced the Art Nouveau style – Lev Nikolaevich Kekushev. At one time, this architect designed not only Lyzhin’s dacha, but also a whole complex of buildings in Detsky Proezd. This is the building of a fine-cloth factory, a barracks, and a house for employees in the factory.
In 2008, there was a fire on the estate, it has not yet been restored. But the tower “Key” flaunts today. It is painted in a bright lemon color, and its maroon roof is decorated with a weather vane.

Ivanteevskaya Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God
This is the parish church of the Sergius Posad diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. It was built in 1808. To date, the church building is an object of cultural heritage and is protected by the state. Despite this, the church is active, divine services are held in it.
The first temple on the site of the Ivanteevskaya Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God was erected in 1748. The church was made of wood and was named in honor of the Kazan icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. After the church fell into disrepair, it was decided to build a new temple, which lasted five years. The architect was A.N.Bakarev. The red-brick church with rich decoration became an example of the romantic trend in the architecture of classicism.
In 1938, during the reign of Soviet power, the temple was closed. His premises began to be used as a warehouse. The cemetery, which was located nearby, was liquidated. During the Great Patriotic War, the building of the temple was also used as a warehouse, and in the bell tower there was an air defense point. In the 70s of the twentieth century, the building was restored, it was given to the City Museum of History and Local Lore. In 1989, a water-holy prayer service was served within the walls of the church for the first time in a long time. Before the closure of the church, it housed the Smolensk image of the Most Holy Theotokos, so in modern times the temple was consecrated in honor of this icon.

Monument to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker
In Christianity, Nicholas the Pleaser is revered as a miracle worker, patron of sailors, merchants and children. In the Russian state and, especially, in the Russian Empire, he was felt everywhere, and his image was very common. Throughout the country, temples were built in honor of the Saint and icons were painted, the number of which is in second place after the Virgin. Until the beginning of the twentieth century, the name Nicholas was quite popular, it was often used to name babies.
On the territory of modern Russia there are only a few cities in which a monument to Nicholas the Wonderworker is open. These are Mozhaisk, Yeysk, Togliatti, Kaliningrad, Perm, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and, of course, Ivanteevka.
The official opening ceremony of the monument in Ivanteevka took place on May 2, 2007 – on the Day of St. Nicholas the Pleaser. This memorable event marked the procession. There is a monument next to the temple of the icon of the Smolensk Mother of God. It is located in a wonderful ratonda, on the creation of which Vladimir Valentinovich Gubsky worked. The monument to St. Nicholas itself was created in the image of the canonical icon of the XIII century. Sculptor – Grigory Potocki. In the left hand of St. Nicholas is the Gospel, and with the right he blesses everyone. The sculptor Grigory Pototsky in Ivanteevka made two monuments – To St. Nicholas and “Cranes”, dedicated to the fallen. Both monuments were erected in 2007. Three years later, the sculptor erected a monument to Nicholas the Wonderworker in Washington, it looks very similar to Ivanteevsky.

Museum of Russian Samovars
A private museum of Russian samovars in Ivanteevka is called Muzeon. The idea of its creation belongs to Anatoly Vasilyevich Novikov, who was fond of samovars for many years. Initially, it was a hobby, but the number of samovars in the private collection became more and more every year. Here it was decided to create a museum, the opening of which occurred in 2019. Initially, the main part of the exposition was made up of samovars from a private collection, but their number continues to grow and the assortment is annually replenished with new specimens. Most of the presented samples are the works of Russian craftsmen. But there are two stands in the museum dedicated to samovars from the East and Europe.
The most interesting exhibits of the museum are a tiny samovar “Egoist”, a rectangular samovar for hiking, Chinese samovars, old Russian samovars, which are called sbitenniki. Ivanteevsky Church of St. George the Victorious
St. George’s Church, as the Ivanteevsky Church of St. George the Victorious is also called, is the parish church of the Moscow Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The first historical information about the temple dates back to 1573. Presumably in 1520-1530 a wooden church was built in this place. By the end of the 1590s, the church was rebuilt, it served the parishioners until 1664. Then the Birdyukin-Zaitsev brothers received permission to build a new wooden church. The temple in honor of the Great Martyr George was built 10 years later. Initially, two of his bells were fixed on a birch, and the third just lay next to each other.
In 1730, the new owner of the village, Irina Sheremetyeva, filed a petition for the construction of a new wooden church. It was consecrated in 1737. During the Soviet regime, many churches were closed, the same church continued its activities. An amazing story associated with it occurred in the 50s of the twentieth century. To stop the destruction of the walls, the priest Basil built a special structure to strengthen them. Local authorities began to demand that this building be immediately destroyed. Parishioners staged the beating of a clergyman when he allegedly tried to break down the building. After the incident, the authorities left the building and soon forgot about its demolition.

Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Komyagino
The temple was built in 1678 in the village, which at that time was called Sergiyevo. This is one of the best monuments of ancient Russian architecture in the Moscow region. The five-domed temple is made of brick. It had a refectory, a tent bell tower, and a western porch. The entrance to the bell tower is made in the thickness of the walls. At the beginning, the second chapel of St. Gregory of Nyssa adjoined the refectory from the north, and a covered porch on the south side. However, they were dismantled in the middle of the XVIII century. In the altar of the main temple, a white wall is still preserved, on which the names of the builders and benefactors of the temple are indicated.
In the 20s of the twentieth century, the temple was closed, and its interior decoration was completely lost. In the middle of the last century, the building was restored. A second restoration was carried out in the 80s. The temple was covered with copper, and the heads with a two-tone wooden plywood. In the 80s, a workshop for the manufacture of ceramics was located within its walls. In 1991, the temple was returned to the Church. On Christmas Day in 1992, the first service was held there.
