Xiatel is a ski resort located in the heart of the large Franco-Swiss ski area of Portes du Soleil,in the valley of plenty, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc. There are 61 lifts on more than 80 kilometers of ski track with 1000 meters of vertical descent. The driver is suitable both for training beginners and snowboarders, as well as for experienced athletes and amateurs. Châtel offers easy access to Avorias and the Swiss resorts of Torgon and Morgen. For snowboarders, there is a landscape park and a border cross track. The nearest airport is in Geneva and the nearest train station is châtel train station in Montea.
L’Escale (accs en tlcabine)
L’Escale Blanche enjoys a great location right on the slopes of Chatetel. The high-rise hotel can only be reached by cable car. Guests are delivered by a special gondola that runs from the village to the mountainside daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The fully equipped rooms are simply furnished and some have a private balcony. If the room does not have a balcony, then this minus is easily compensated by the hotel’s terrace, which offers a panoramic view of the slopes and the village. The hotel has a spa area where you can relax after a long day skiing or snowboarding. All rooms have a bathroom with toiletries and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
Half board is included in the room rate. A unique breakfast buffet is served each morning.
Hotel Eliova l’Eau Vive

Hotel Eliova l’Eau Vive is 100 metres from the Linga Ski Lifts, which take guests free of charge to the peaks of portes du Soleil Ski Resort.
The infrastructure is represented by a restaurant, a bar, a lounge with newspapers and magazines, as well as a ski storage room. The two-storey building has 28 rooms with 2, 3 or 4 beds and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Meals are organized according to the half-board system or only breakfast. If desired, you can take food with you to the slope in a special box.
The hotel has a children’s space with a mother-and-child room. A high chair, a baby cot, a booster seat and a bottle warmer are available on request. Baby bottles and jars can be warmed up in the restaurant.
Le Choucas
The hotel is located 200 metres from the centre of the resort and the ski lifts. Nearby there are two cinemas, many restaurants and shops. A free shuttle service to other ski resorts in Barbossina can be arranged. The hotel translates as “Galka” and offers guests comfortable rooms and breakfast in an authentic Savoy chalet.
The hotel includes 12 rooms for families and companies from 2 to 4 people. Each room has a balcony with beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Hotel Macchi Restaurant & Spa
Boutique Chalet Macchi opened in 1970. It is an ideal place to relax, relax and socialize with friends.

Arc en Ciel
Hotel “Rainbow” is located in Pti-Chatel at the foot of the Barbossina chair lift, from where you can reach the slopes of Super-Hétel and Portes du Soleil.
The centre of Chateal is 900 metres away. The hotel is located at the sunniest point, a little at a height, with stunning views of the valley. In winter, there is a ski shop and a ski school on the ground floor of the hotel.
The hotel has 19 rooms, most of which have a balcony.
The restaurant serves a four-course menu (half board) every evening, with one evening of national cuisine per week. A generous breakfast buffet is served each morning.
Stepan, Moscow: Location, view, comfortable bed, shower. Breakfast was the best we’ve ever eaten at a B&B. Fabulous chalet with lovely common living and dining area. We also really liked Frank and Pat, although unfortunately not everyone will enjoy their company. We were lucky Liked everything.
Au Bois de Lune
Au Bois de Lune is 2 km from the ski lift to the Linga slope and the centre of Châtel. All 12 rooms are simply furnished and feature a small kitchen and a balcony with mountain views.
It offers a heated ski room, large private parking, and a free shuttle every 15 minutes to the cable car and the village centre. A restaurant serving Savoyard specialities is 50 metres away. Guests can relax on the large sun terrace and enjoy an aperitif with friends at the local bar.
A buffet breakfast is served in the picturesque rustic-style dining room.
Marina, Rostov the Great: We stayed with the family for a few nights in early April – 4 adults and 3 children aged 6-9 years. We all really enjoyed our stay. A free shuttle bus took us to the ski lift we wanted to get to every morning and picked us up at the end of the day. The chalet was very spacious, clean and luxurious. The food was delicious too. We definitely plan to come back in the summer and go mountain biking.
Fleur De Neige Hotel
Hotel Restaurant Fleur de Neige is located in the heart of Portes du Soleil and the Abondance Valley. The hosts, Philip Trincaz and his son Sebastian, as well as their wives Christina and Carolina, greet guests simply and in a family-like way.
The hotel has 23 rooms,of which 16 have been recently renovated. Most rooms have a balcony with mountain views, while others have a street view. The hotel has a spa area with hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, massage room, heated swimming pool (outdoor summer) and shaded terrace.
Stepan, Moscow: We visited the hotel on the weekend, passing through. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The food is excellent, great wine. For children 10 and 8 years old made a discount, settled in a room with a fantastic view of the valley. The spa was also clean, the pool temperature was nice. The staff is polite and the food is excellent. We will definitely come again.
La Perdrix Blanche
La Perdrix Blanche is set in the mountains, a 10-minute drive from the Forme d’O Water Sports Centre and the Super Chatel Ski Lift. Avoriaz Ski Resort is 8.8 kilometers away, and Portes du Soleil is just over five kilometers away.
The hotel has 10 rooms with all amenities and wireless internet access. The infrastructure is represented by a common spacious terrace with picturesque views of the valley and garden. Meals can be arranged in the restaurant and bar. A continental breakfast is served every morning.
Camilla and Artem, St. Petersburg: Excellent local cuisine, nothing to complain about. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic place to stay. A stone’s throw from French and British ski schools.
LATITUDE 47
LATITUDE 47 offers accommodation in Chatetel, 3.3 km from ski school and 5 km from Les Portes du Soleil. The house has four rooms and two bathrooms, at the same time up to 8 people can live here. The apartments have quite strict rules, noisy cheerful companies are not allowed, it will not be possible to hold a party here. Preference is given to calm respectable tourists.
Downstairs the house is surrounded by a spacious veranda, and on the second floor there is a balcony overlooking the mountains. The house stands on an elevation and at some distance from the rest of civilization.
Svetlana, Kazan: The hotel staff and general service were top notch. We decided to leave the night before so we wouldn’t get up early in the morning and the hotel staff fed us dinner earlier than usual. At about 17:30 the last bus leaves and only the staff and guests of the hotel remain. It seems that you are at home, such silence and comfort around. We stopped for the New Year and the staff had a great celebration with an amazing 7-course dinner. Fabulous vacation.
Chalet Carnauba
This is one of the best and most luxurious chalets in the ski village of Châtel and enjoys a quiet location overlooking the Alpine meadow and is surrounded by evergreen trees. The hotel offers four spacious rooms for up to 8 people.
All four rooms are equipped with custom-made oak beds with mattresses 30 cm deep to ensure guests a good night’s sleep.
Two rooms have a balcony and the other two have a terrace. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, luxury organic toiletries and a hairdryer. On the beds are duvets and pillows made of Egyptian cotton. On the ground floor there is a main open-plan living room with a fireplace. There are huge panoramic windows and a large balcony where you can relax after an active holiday on the mountain, admire the beautiful view and relax.
The living area of the mezzanine is located on the second floor, on the roof of the chalet. Here you can watch TV, read a book and admire the beautiful view. On the outdoor balcony you can sit with a cup of tea and enjoy the morning sun.
Staff prepare meals daily with fresh, local produce. This is accompanied by a selection of local wines of high quality.
Catherine, Dortmund: Me, my husband and our two daughters spent a long vacation at the Carnauba Chalet in mid-January 2019. We were met by a very hospitable host, accommodated in the rooms and gave a quick tour of the chalet. The chalet is beautiful, with a lot of design features. Lovely rooms with bathrooms, beautiful fireplace, jacuzzi and much more. The food was fantastic, very well cooked, healthy and lots of it. We tried to eat all the dishes. The hosts Matt and Sam were very attentive and welcoming. We also met Paisley, the dog we all fell in love with. We were easily able to explore the entire local ski area thanks to Matt, who drove us to the lifts every morning. We used the Portes du Soleil lift as we used to ski in Le Goethe, Morzine and Avériaz, and it was easy to get to these places from Châtel. We fell in love with this place and hope to return soon.
